Die Atomkraft
Ende einer Ära?

Nuclear power has always been marked by controversy. It is passionately advocated and opposed, protected and feared. For some countries - above all Germany - it seems to be on the way to becoming a discontinued model after 80 years of use. But is it really?

The documentary "Nuclear Power - The End of an Era?" shows what nuclear power has meant to us in recent decades and how different the social discussion was in Germany and France. And it asks what its future holds - with surprising answers. With a strong focus on France, the world's largest nuclear power nation, and on Germany, which is sticking to its nuclear phase-out despite the expected temporary continued operation of the last power plants, the 90-minute film is a journey through 80 years of eventful history.
