OUR LAND IN THE 60s
In a class of its own

The 60s - a decade that shaped our country like no other. The architecture of that time still shapes the face of our cities and communities today. Tens of thousands of people who came as so-called "guest workers" to keep the economy on the Rhine and Ruhr going have long since made their home here. And the hits of those years are evergreens today.

From 1963 onwards, employees were allowed to travel 24 days a year - with full pay! People in NRW were gripped by wanderlust, many were drawn to "Bella Italia". But things were also happening at home.
