OUR LAND IN THE 60s
The scent of the big, wide world

The 60s - a decade that shaped our country like no other. The architecture of that time still shapes the face of our cities and communities today. Tens of thousands of people who came as so-called "guest workers" to keep the economy on the Rhine and Ruhr going have long since made their home here. And the hits of those years are evergreens today.

Our series starts in 1960 - the dawn of a new decade in which North Rhine-Westphalia knew only one direction: Full speed ahead! The economic miracle made it possible. "We are who we are again!" - that's what we wanted to show. There were triumphs, but also tragedies.
