Semi-Final Judging of the International Emmy® Awards

2008

In a glamourous setting, the semi-final judgings of this year's International Emmy® Awards took place at the Marienburg in Cologne on 26th June 2008. Five juries, each comprised of ten industry-experts, decided on the advancement of the 60 remaining competition entries from all over Europe, including Germany, in six categories:

Following the jury-meetings, Academy-ambassador Leopold Hoesch (BROADVIEW TV), Academy-member Micheal Smeaton (Smeaton Entertainment) and the ZDF as well as ZDF.enterprises, the jury and other high-profile industry representatives held a reception at the Marienburg in Cologne. The semi-final judgings in Cologne were supported by HDI GerlingNRW.BANK, the Landesanstalt für Medien NRW, the Filmstiftung NRW and the partner hotel InterContinental Cologne.

The final Emmy-nominations were announced by the Academy alongside Mipcom in Cannes in October 2008. The winners of the 2008 International Emmy® Awards were presented with the coveted Emmy-statue during an elegant gala in New York in front of over 1.200 international representatives of broadcasters, entertainment and media companies on 24th November 2008.
