As Victoria I, she will one day ascend the throne. As Sweden's first queen in more than 300 years. A large part of the population would like to see the Crown Princess at the head of the state sooner rather than later. No other public figure has enjoyed greater approval in Sweden since the National Statistics Institute came into existence. But the road has not been an easy one for Victoria.
On the occasion of her 40th birthday on 14 July, ZDFzeit congratulates Victoria of Sweden with a documentary. Author and royal house expert Julia Melchior has accompanied the Crown Princess for many years. With opulent pictures and entertaining anecdotes, her portrait gives a very personal insight into the life of the popular heir to the throne.
