Broadcast series: Theatermakers

One theatre, four sections, more than 50 professions and each production a synthesis of the arts, a total work of art by many participants. They all help to create about 5,800 productions for 35 million spectators each season at the 150 publicly funded theatres alone: Creatives, craftsmen, technicians and administrative staff make the theatre the boards that mean the world. So every production is an ensemble effort in which everyone at the theatre works together for one goal, feels stage fright and premiere tension, shares a passion for the profession and struggles with personal conflicts and controversies over content. But there is also the normal everyday work and routine: like everywhere else and yet very different.
