The semi-final judging for this year's International Emmy® Awards took place in a glamorous setting at the Marienburg in Cologne on June 17, 2011. Five juries, each consisting of up to twelve industry experts, decided on the 60 remaining entries from all over Europe, including Germany. Germany.

Following the jury sessions, Academy ambassador Leopold Hoesch (BROADVIEW TV), together with MMC Studios and Academy member Michael Smeaton (FFP New Media), invited the jury and other prominent industry representatives to a reception at the Marienburg in Cologne. The Semi Final Judgings in Cologne were supported by HDI Gerling, Filmstiftung NRW, ARRI, Audi, Eutelsat, MMC, WDR, the Minister for Federal Affairs, Europe and Media of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Media Authority of North Rhine-Westphalia.

The winners of the 2011 International Emmy® Awards were presented with the coveted Emmy statue at a festive gala on November 21, 2011 in New York in front of more than 1,200 international representatives from broadcasters, entertainment and media companies.
