The semi-final judging for this year's International Emmy® Awards was once again held in a glamorous setting at the Marienburg in Cologne on June 22, 2009. Six juries, each made up of up to twelve industry experts, decided on the progress of the 60 remaining entries from all over Europe, including Germany. Germany.

Following the jury sessions, Academy ambassador Leopold Hoesch (BROADVIEW TV), ZDF (Frank-Dieter Freiling) and Academy member Michael Smeaton (FFP New Media) invited the jury and other prominent industry representatives to a reception in Cologne’s ‘Marienburg’. The Semi Final Judgings in Cologne were supported by HDI Gerling, NRW.BANK, the City of Cologne, the Filmstiftung NRW and the Landesanstalt für Medien NRW.

The winners of the 2009 International Emmy® Awards will be presented with the coveted Emmy statue at a gala ceremony on November 23, 2009 in New York in front of more than 1,200 international representatives of broadcasters, entertainment and media companies.
