Preliminary decision of the International Emmy® Awards 2008

The semi-final judging for this year's International Emmy® Awards took place in a glamorous setting at the Marienburg in Cologne on June 26, 2008. Five juries, each made up of ten industry experts, decided on the progress of the 60 remaining entries from all over Europe, including Germany, in six categories. Germany in the six categories.

Following the jury sessions, Academy ambassador Leopold Hoesch (BROADVIEW TV), Academy members Michael Smeaton (Smeaton Entertainment) and ZDF and ZDF.enterprises invited the jury and other prominent industry representatives to a reception in Cologne’s ‘Marienburg’. The Semi Final Judgings in Cologne were supported by HDI Gerling, NRW.BANK, Landesanstalt für Medien NRW, Filmstiftung NRW and the partner hotel InterContinental Köln.

The final Emmy nominations were announced by the Academy in Cannes on the fringes of Mipcom in October 2008. The winners of the 2008 International Emmy® Awards were presented with the coveted Emmy statue at a festive gala on November 24, 2008 in New York in front of more than 1,200 international representatives of broadcasters, entertainment and media companies.
