How do we want to love?

It's complicated

Love is multifaceted and complicated, sensual and erotic, selfish, selfless, passionate, tender, painful - all regardless of whether it is reciprocated or not.
Love is a broad field.
The team of authors Frank Diederichs, Annebeth Jacobsen and Achim Scheunert explore the vast landscapes of love.
Emmy award-winner Anna Schudt lends her voice to the mini-series Wie wollen wir lieben?
with her voice.

The series concludes with episode 3 - its title: It's complicated... Because that's exactly the question we ask ourselves at the end of our journey - after we have liberated love and sex - everyone can seemingly love, live and have sex the way he or she wants - why is it still so complicated?
We roam through the Swiss forest with men - they are searching for their masculinity - they want to find a way of dealing with themselves, women and love.
They are insecure, the role models are no longer clearly defined, they feel - and that makes it complicated.
It seems easier at Germany's oldest singles party "Fisch sucht Fahrrad...?" - here it is clear that people are looking for love and are open - yet many go home alone.
Youtuber Valentina Vapaux is also fighting her way through the love jungle - from hetero to bisexual - from breaking up in front of the camera to moving to the countryside: "I'm moving to a small town now because I'm tired of this constant feeling of being overwhelmed. I'm longing to slow down."
That is perhaps also the conclusion of this series - deceleration is the longing - love remains as it is - complicated and simple at the same time.
We don't want to give up our new freedoms - but it won't be easy either.

The three-part series (3 x 52 minutes) is a BROADVIEW TV production.
Editors for ZDF/ARTE are Shila Behjat and Wolfgang Bergmann, producers for BROADVIEW TV are Britta Luckas and Franziska Rempe.
The producer is Emmy award winner Leopold Hoesch.
