The Eternal Udo Kier

Udo Kier is 80 years old and is at the peak of his career. "I am a lucky man," he says in the interview.

Kier recently played Adolf Hitler alongside Al Pacino in the series Hunters and has won numerous awards for his leading role in Swan Song. Japanese video game developer Hideo Kojima has cast Kier in his latest game OD, which is eagerly awaited by millions of fans worldwide. He has been a demon, Frankenstein, murderer, lover and six times Adolf Hitler, and has starred in art films, indie classics and blockbusters around the world. Growing up without a father in the post-war ruins of Cologne, Kier dreamed of leaving the confines of those times behind him - a dream that came true. He is discovered in London, shoots in Rome with Andy Warhol, lives and works in Paris, is part of Rainer Werner Fassbinder's clique and is part of Cologne's art scene, which is considered to be one of the most exciting in the world. Gus Van Sant helps Kier to a career in Hollywood as the uncrowned king of supporting actors. He plays alongside Madonna, Pamela Anderson, Nicole Kidman, Joaquin Phoenix and Matt Damon and becomes Lars von Trier's muse. Udo Kier has lived in California for 30 years. For this film, he lets a camera team into his house in Palm Springs for the first time, shows his impressive art collection, his palm garden and the giant tortoise Hans Solo and talks about his life. Close friends, directors and actors remember the wonderful Udo Kier.
