The documentary "German Dynasties: The Thyssens" tells the chronicle of one of the most influential families in German history and sets out in search of the legacy left behind by three outstanding protagonists of the Thyssen saga.
After a look back at the life and work of founding father August Thyssen, the documentary focuses on two key aspects of biography and contemporary history: The steel baron Fritz Thyssen and his tragic entanglements in the Third Reich and the art patron Hans-Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza in the second half of the 20th century.
