Angela Merkel - 3 Days in September

The documentary dips into the topic of the first weekend in September 2015 when Angela Merkel decided to let the refugees and asylum seekers, who were stuck in Budapest, enter Germany. The film addresses the controversial and challenging ambiguity of the date, trying to get to the bottom of things and wanting to find out what really happened.

The interviewees are refugees, border guards, and volunteers acting on a micro level, as well as politicians and diplomats acting on a macro level. On a meta level, the phenomenon is explained by historians, journalists, and migration researchers.
